Very few professionals will change from Canon to Nikon

Sitting on the fence - for a while

To me there are two major uncertainties:

1. If and when will Canon release a high MP camera? There are no signals whatsoever to answer this. If it is within a few months, then fair enough. If it is in three years time then that is a long time. More importantly three years with tens of thousands of photos of lesser technical quality than they could have been. And if it is three years; what will Nikon, Sony, Fuji and Pentax have on offer by then?

2. If that high MP camera does show from Canon, how will its sensor compare with regards to DR, ISO and corner vignetting. So far Canon still hasn't made a backlight sensor. If it is high MP, but worse on all other accounts, then it still isn't the answer.

So I'm sitting on the fence for a while. In the meantime I'm certainly not going to make a potential later system change more complicated by buying more Canon equipment.
