My thought as well. The price difference between 5DIII and D800 plus the investment in lenses could buy him a very fast computer. MacBook Air does not sound like a great

I have a very fast computer, a 27" iMac. But I like the portability and freedom of editing on my Air and recently even my iPad. Both handle 20-24mp files reasonably well. I travel a lot, and I enjoy having my library with me. Also, I simply don't need 36MP. I can't imagine any situation that would consistently come up in my shooting that would warrant having that type of resolution.

computer to process 22MP file either.

The 5DIII was what I wanted the D800 to be... a balanced upgrade- significant, yet modest upgrade in pixel count, addition of video, refreshed user interface. 36 megapixels sounds swell until you try processing them on a MacBook Air. So I switched. Today was my first day with the 5DIII and it was a lot of fun to use. The UI is straight forward and I love the way it handles. I look forward to spending more time with this camera!
