I would assume that two identical flashes with the same model number would have the same delay time, but this obviously is not the case. I suspect the tolerances in electrical components used to manufacture Vivitar flashes might not be as tight as I'd like for this application.


I could just have one faulty unit. If that's the case, two flashes might work without the ghosting. I posted this question to find out if anyone else has had this problem before. I'd like to know before I go out and buy another Vivitar 285 and find out that it also has its "signature delay".
