Nope. Its large, but not largest.

Its fun stuff of course. But - the image quality it will produce is probably over rated.

A stitched image with an ordinary digital camera is probably way better.

So - whats the problem with this large camera.

  1. Lens - you have to find a huge lens thats very good.

  2. Medium - you have to find a "detector". Is it film? Is it photo paper? No matter - getting such a large medium of high quality is hard.

  3. DOF - that thing has a very shallow DOF. Keeping the subject in focus will be hard.

  4. Processing - the film/paper has to be processed.

  5. Replicating - if its not a direct positive process - you have to replicate the result somehow. Is it going to be scanned? Or is there a monster enlarger? Or contact copies? Whatever - its not going to be easy to make it of high quality.

Lets see whats happening. Maybe it will be 1000 times better images than from digital cameras. I am sceptic though.
