Example of Sigma 17-50 OS at 2.8

I'm very happy so far with my new Sigma 17-50 2.8 lens. I think it is very sharp wide open and focuses fast and accurately on my D7000. I've had a couple 2.8 lenses and this is the best of my bunch. I tried a Tamron 28-75, it was terribly soft on my camera until f/4. I had a Tamron 17-50 BIM model, VERY slow focus for my needs. I also had a Tamron 17-50 NON-BIM, I was happy with it and thought it was perfectly expectable at f/2.8, but I let somebody borrow it and they totally wrecked it.

So, I jumped on latest $595 price for the Sigi, and can't complain. I even think I'll sell my Nikon 16-85 because I doubt it will get much use anymore (I have a Tokina 12-24 for UW).

This is an example of why I think I'm really going to like this lens. The second photo is a 100% crop of where I focused. I probably could have gotten a little sharper if I bumped the shutter speed even more.
