You can read a lot from the specifications, and they are not exactly eyewatering for people wanting higher image quality than the 5DII. If I throw up an apple I know it is going to come down again - I don't need to see it first.

The 5DIII could pretty much have been made 3 years ago if Canon had wanted to back then - so in my book not much technical progress happening in three years. I believe carmakers would call this a mid-life model makeover - still valuable for those wanting high ISO and higher FPS, but not much meat there for those wanting higher picture quality.

So yes I am complaining, as there is nothing much for me in it. I'll sit firmly on the fence a for a bit, but unless Canon soon send some signal that they actually care for anything else than high ISO, high FPS and video then I'll shift camp. Actually if Canon don't care about high IQ users anymore I'd like a signal about that too - although it seems they have sent a few like that by now.
