Concert photography: One reason I can't wait for the D4

I was out shooting last night, Lady Antibellum had their first Canadian show in my hometown of Winnipeg and I was there to cover it.

The whole time I was shooting I was thinking about how the D4 would do in this same case, in just a couple of days. Hedley (pretty big Canadian band) will be playing this Saturday so I'll be all over it with the D4 to shoot and test.

Concert and low light photography is one of the main reasons I want the D4. That and I shoot so much the D800's shutter might burn out in the first year. JK JK, but I do shoot a ton and need a more robust body and do not want that many MP for concerts normally. The only time I bring out the D3X for concerts is when it's someone bigger like Green Day, Metallica etc.

I'm posting these mainly to compare how the noise changes with the D4 in a couple of days.

These are shot with the D3 @ ISO 1600, 200-400 F4 and a couple with the D300 @ ISO 800 and 50mm 1.4.
