G1X - Random City Sunlight (PICS)

The Canon Powershot G1X - as seen by the Canon s95 yesterday

There's bound to be plenty of night-shots showing which should demonstrate how the G1X performs in very low light situations. However, i wanted to play with the camera in fairly bright sunlight yesterday and unfortunately I got sunburned quite severely for my efforts, forcing me to cancel a trip today to see a Country Western festival by the beach. It's hard to decide which images would be worth posting out of the ones I liked from yesterday. Here's some of those I liked more than others...

These pictures were handheld. No Filters on the lens except for the last shot. They were taken as JPEG*s using P-Mode* and Tv-Mode . No Post-Processing - except for the last shot (Infra Red) for which I applied an Auto-Contrast pass.

  • 1/125s f/4.0 at 21.3mm iso500 - Fungi growing in the mulch at Hyde Park

  • 1/250s f/5.8 at 60.4mm iso320 - Friendly Cockatoo in the Botanical Gardens

  • 1/250s f/5.6 at 17.8mm iso100 _ Bare Branches in the Gardens

  • 1/30s f/3.2 at 15.1mm iso200 - Store Display in the City Center

  • 1/160s f/5.6 at 37.4mm iso125 - Flower in a Botanical Gardens pond

  • 1/250s f/14.0 at 60.4mm iso1000 - St Mary's Cathedral through the park foliage

  • 1/160s f/10.0 at 60.4mm iso125 - Natural sparkles and reflections on the Harbor

  • 1/250s f/5.6 at 28.3mm iso200 - A very unflattering reflection

  • 1/10s f/2.8 at 15.1mm iso3200 - A HANDHELD   Infra Red shot of a Cactus Garden
