If 55-300 does not give good macro pictures I will consider buying Raynox DCR 150, as it was recomended to me. How does that work, will it fit on 55-300, is the adaptor universal? Thanks a lot Danny

The 55-300mm @ 1:4 magnification is OK for larger insects like butterflies and dragonflies. The Raynox universal adaptor fits on the 55-300 perfectly and is very easy to pop on/pop off. I agree that the Raynox 150 is the way to go, it will give you from 1:2 to 1.4:1 macro. Set the focus to infinity and vary magnification with the zoom.
