For films like Microcosmos (that's probably the effect you are after?) special lenses were developed, because there was nothing available for getting both the macro subject and its surroundings in focus. And as mentioned above, even that won't work with SLRs with their big mirrorbox, but will require relatively compact cameras. In some cases a split closeup lens may be an option (half of the image focused close up, other half far away).
