XSi has trouble autofocusing

It is interesting that a single dirty sensor element will throw the autofocus algorithm into a tizzy even with all elements active.

Yeah, that is interesting to know. I guess the system doesn't know how to identify and exclude an AF point that is doing something radically different to all the others. Thanks for letting us know how it resolved.
