Ignore the 72 ppi...

Your HX9v captures data in 4608 x 3456 pixels. The ppi only comes into play when you display the image, and the ppi rating then depends on the size of the display/print. Yoiu can print this image at 46 inches X 34.5 inches at 100 ppi (simple division). If you want a print with 300 ppi, your resulting print will be 1/3 those dimensions (roughly 15 X 11.5 inches). For poster-size prints, I submit that 100 ppi is plenty. The other alternative is to up-size the file in editing software, but you're still not adding any real data - just interpolated pixels. Many printing services will automatically up-size the file before sending to the printer, anyway, but they still can't add any more information than was in your original file.

Hope this helps.
