The noise amplitude, in the form that matters, ie, relative to signal (Noise to Signal Ratio, NSR), is just 1/SNR, or expressed in db (ie, the base 10 logarithm): NSR(db) = - SNR(db). Thus, just take every point in Marianne's graphs for the normalized to 12 MP curves and multiply its value with -1 and you get your graph of sensor noise standardised to a given area. The easiest to get to this is to mirror the graph image over its top edge.

it would be great if on the same plot you could show a line as to what a "perfectly efficient sensor" would achieve.

It would be really useful to have an alternative way to easily visually compare both a sensors dynamic range and the key noise floor levels as the signal strength drops for a at different ISOs.
