The 5DIII sports several features regarded as pro grade in the EOS series:

  • > 40 AF points

  • dual card slots

  • 100% viewfinder

Invironmental sealing is a gradual thing, there is no real limit. It is similar with fps, but with 6 fps the 5DIII is faster than ALL former FF DSLR from Canon and only topped by the not yet available 1DX.

There are traditional pro features that haven't been incorporated, though. No integrated vertical grip, spot metering only in the center etc. One traditional pro feature, AF at f/8, has even been dropped from the EOS line entirely.

On the other hand the 5DIII has the mode dial with C1, C2 and C3, the only thing I really miss on my 1DIV. I still wonder why this hasn't been integrated in the 1-series, it is such a usefull thing under fast changing cirumstances.
