What your looking at isn't RAW by definition raw cannot be viewed.

It may be a flat processed image but it certainly is a jpg and as such any NR artefacts are much more likely to come from the software processor than the HW nr.

I know what you are saying. There is colour NR going on with Pentax (recent models) I don't have a huge issue with that, but I noticed some apparent sharpening to raw files too which is unavoidable as it kicks in at I believe ISO 3200 and up.

Obviously sharpening noise isn't optimal for workflow.

I think raw should be unprocessed myself. It's nowhere near the OTT Massive NR Sony were doing with their A700 at the time (really very strong NR) but the idea of raw is it's not processed.
