will the G1X have scratch lens problem too?

Of course not as it has no Lens shutter - it's the leaves in the lens shutter which causes the scratching either by them being made ouside thickness tolerance or grit being trapped behind them - the G1X has no lens shutter so no scratches.....

It was first noticed in the G10 but canon were too stupid to make the distance from front elly to leaves greater on the G11 and G12 so they suffer too (Japanese camera makers are Stubborn in repeating design errors, canon and fuji are famous for it ).
