Re: Anyone upgrading from D700?

Old is a relative term. Many of us take care of our equipment and many of us were early adopters. I bought mine December 08. My shutter count is around 25k. I'm not in the business and even if I were and had over 125k actuations the camera would still be in the 8 to 9 range. The way it is now would be a 9+. Still selling to Keh, Adorama or BHphoto, I would be lucky to get 40/50% back. That's why I sell my gear myself. The D700 cost me $2699, so realistically I would sell the camera @ 30-40% off. The poster who sold his for $1850 was on target. I don't offer guaranties but what I do is send the camera at my expense to the service center for a clean up and inspection. When I get the report back it goes up for sale and I show that to the perspective buyer to ease any of their concerns. I have been into the Nikon1 and purchased a V1, so I'm concentrating on it. I have no reason to upgrade when in fact of have a top of the line camera. If you can get a clean D700 for $1800 buy it.
