Testing input/EVF lag

This is what I'd do.......

Grab a timer that is accurate to fractions of a second.

Set the camera (E-M5) up on a tripod and in live view (using the rear panel display) and aim it at the timer.

Take a second camera or video camera and set it up so it can read both the screen of the first camera and the timer at the same time.

The difference in the shot or video taken by the second device between the timer and the image of the timer on the back of the screen would be the amount of lag.

The EVF may have different lag timings than the rear panel. I have no idea how to get around that.
