I don't get how it's not Samsung's fault for developing something that wasn't very good. Contemporaries, such as Panasonic/Olympus/Leica were VERY good from the outset. Here, Samsung couldn't write off on offering an extremely expensive, but functional EVF, so they designed a completely substandard one instead, which I think was a mistake. Of course people won't buy it and judging from the number that went u4/3 and XZ1, it likely had an effect on sales. It was a poor move on their part to cheap out.

Additionally, I don't know where the comment about "old sensor" came from, considering some u4/3 cams are using sensors 4 years old until recently.

As far as the K01 goes, it was a simple reason for omitting the EVF: the K5 has an OVF and the K01 is a VF-less (and mirrorless) K5 with better video. If you need a VF and the same still performance, you go K5. Don't care for the VF, go K01.

I had an EVF100 for a short time. Actually, the EVF's LCD panel was very similar in spec, performance and appearance to the Panasonic LVF1E, as provided for the GF1 and GF2 (and the LX5), though that does mean it was jointly with that EVF unit the smallest image size and lowest resolution EVF that I've used. The styling of the unit was nice, but I was surprised that Samsung didn't provide it with the 90 degree tilt facility that all similar units have had.

One thing I noticed - the first time it was fitted to the NX100, it was enormously difficult to attach, but after that it was fine. The connector socket on the camera appears to need to be "broken in", as it were!! This has never happened on any other brand I've used with a similar connection arranagement, though.
