D800 will be a Xanthippe.

Total cost of D800

D800 -- US$3000

Since D800 needs high grade glass let me say I choose to buy a 24-70. -- US$2000

A Pentium 4 with 2 gigabytes RAM running XP is adequate for handling D700 files but for D800 files I may need a 64 bit machine for example i7 with 8 or 16 gigabytes RAM, that costs US$2000.

I don't know how much a professional grade tripod costs.

To this point it costs at least US$7000 maybe more.

Furthermore for landscapes with D800 I may need a 4 wheel drive vehicle.

But this is futile since I rarely use a tripod I am more of a street photographer rather than a landscaper.

My final thought about D800 is it will be a Xanthippe I mean it will be unforgiving, of course compared with low pixel count DSLR.

You may call it a sour grape.

May God forgive us our imperfections!

Dust to dust, what on earth are we entitled to claim?
