SZ-30MR gets its first Tui Parson Bird

Well, it did get it, in the dark innards of a tree going up the Garden Terrace footpath.

But it had a lot of help from Dr. Welsh and her team at the eye clinic in Green Lane Hospital, since she did the cataract-clouded lens replacement in my right eye.

For starters, my hearing could locate its warblings over a much narrower angle than previously, so I went a little up the footpath where the bird was no longer hidden by foliage. The juggling white cravat gave it away, but previously that would have been too small to make it out in the dark center of the tree.

This was taken at a distance where the SZ-30MR pre-sharpens a bit much. With the SP-570UZ I have to post-sharpen such a shot though.

Thanks again to the Green Lane Eye Clinic team.
