Long - no idea

Good list. Here's mine.

7-14mm
Voigtländer Nokton 25mm
Pentax 50mm f1.4 SMC Takumar

The long end I've mulled over for a long time. The 14-140mm has always been frustrating, since it's never been quite long enough, but it's quite good below 100mm or so. I'd been thinking about getting a Nikon 300mm f4 internal focus ED lens, but it just seemed way too big and heavy. There's no way I'm carrying a 2 pound lens around.

Oddly, a funny thing happened that made up my mind for me today...

I live on the 4th floor (top) in Manhattan near Central Park and there a quite a few raptors I see daily... red-tailed hawks, Cooper's hawks, kestrels and even peregrine falcons. So, I'm sitting at my desk and I catch movement from the corner of my eye. A kestrel landed on my window sill not 6 feet away! It sat for maybe 10 seconds and flew off. No time to grab my camera, but I thought, if I had been using one of my (preferred) manual lenses, there's no way I'd have gotten the shot. So, I bit the bullet and ordered a 100-300mm from Samy's (no tax, free shipping!).

Thanks Mr. / Mrs. Kestrel! (Yes, I've seen a pair from my rooftop!)
