2.8 allows you more shooting in different environments, also greater DOF. I have seen many nice, sharp pics shot with the Sigma @ 2.8, very usable wide open. This alone is good enough for me. When people say that the Canon is "razor" sharp @f4 and Sigma "sharp", what's the difference in print?. Also the OS is supposedly better and the price point is cheaper than the Canon f4. I'm sold. As for the weather sealing.... to me not that important, maybe if I get stuck in a downpour, than I would have second thoughts, but Canon may not fair as well in conditions like that. The only thing I wish Sigma would have done or added is a focus limiter, other than that, Sigma made a winner here.
