You are spot on!!

DSLRs will be around for a long time, just as MF is still around. However, they would be for more and more specialised use. With tech improvements, mirrorless are just as good as FF at iso100-1600, where most people shoot. I've just gone micro 4/3 and use it much more than my 5d2.

DOF is not an issue now with lenses like the 45mm f1.8 and coming 75mm f1.8. Yes, I can't get the same effect as my 85mm f1.2 but carrying around the 5d2 with 85mm f1.2 for street photography is ridiculous. I get much better result with my Pen and 45mm. People are more obliging to have their photos taken.
