1. What do we know about total volume? Given that m43 is starting from scratch, im guessing that total sales have increased.

As far as % market share goes... if the market is bigger the sales of µ4/3 is even bigger... And yes, AFAIK, the total sales of ILCs are on the up.

2. Oly are still selling the EP1, EPL1 at fire sale rates.

Everyone is selling old cameras as cheaply as possible... You can buy Canon 1000D here from new at $350, and Nikon D3000 around the same price... And old Sony cameras (2xx whatever) They are not produced any more, so they are sold to get rid of stocks... That is called "the market" (look it up)

3. OMD wont move many units.

What do you base your market analysis on?

Does it mean that Oly is now the leader of DSLRs? Take a look at the press pool at the superbowl.

Uhm.... If you take a look at any of these pro sports events as your market share evaluation, I have some news for you...

First of all, Canon 1D3 and Nikon D3s are not high volume cameras... At the superbowl you are probably looking at pretty much the entire amount of sold cameras of these types in the US... Well, that was exaggerated, but the market is in 1000s of units, world wide... the E-M5 is an enthusiast camera, designed to sell in millions...
