battery life...

the main drawback of mirrorless are it's crappy AF systems, but looking at the nikon 1 series with PDAF on the sensor, this obviously can be solved.

and EVFs are constantly improving and getting pretty close to the nice view out of an OVF and they can actually provide you much more shooting information.

but the one thing i just don't see mirrorless catching up is battery life. a DSLR lets me shoot for weeks, as it only needs to really power up right when i take a picture. but a mirrorless needs to run constantly, just to let me see what i might be shooting.

maybe i'm in a minority, but to me it's very important that i can go on a one or two week trip where i can't charge batteries. so as long as mirrorless can't significantly improve on their battery life they aren't really an option for me. but power consumption and battery technology has been pretty steady in the last few years
