1. What do we know about total volume?

Does it mean that Oly is now the leader of DSLRs? Take a look at the press pool at the superbowl.

Your point about total volume is a good point.

Your point about the press pool is idiotic.

When you claim that other makers are losing their leadership position, then that means just that. Selling a ton of EP1/EPL! at discount prices is not leadership, imo.

Olympus did not design this camera to compete with the Nikon D3 and similar cameras. Action photography is a narrowly defined segment of photography, not broadly representative of photography in general. You only have to look at the images that people post in the forums here, or DPR's sample images, to know that. You will find action photos here and there, but most people shoot stationary subjects, most of the time, and many if not most of the action shots you do find here could easily have been taken by a m43 camera. Third, and maybe most importantly, the people in the Super Bowl press pool don't buy their own cameras so their buying choices do not necessarily reflect the best balance of performance and budget for enthusiast photographers, who are the majority on these forum.

So which is it? Are you appealing to reason as with the total volume point, or just making inflammatory statements?
