Re: Tokyo is great!

There was some old, dirty snow on the ground in Nikko, so not much of a backdrop for photography. Combined with a couple of rather gray days, my skills were not enough to make much out of it. But the Nikko area is a very nice destination for anyone who is a small town boy like me and gets enough high rises in 5 days :-). Highly recommended. If you are from abroad, the Nikko Pass (by the Tobu Line) is a fantastic deal. Return train from Tokyo and unlimited busrides in the area for about 45€ (50$) is an offer that you just cannot beat! Paying by the trip, one day of bussing will set you back the same amount!

As for Tokyo, at night we kind of lived on the metro. Suica (equivalent of Pasmo) works like a charm, and subway navigation with english signposting was a breeze. The few times we were confused, someone always showed us the way. Plus some walking around ofcourse, you are never too far from a metro station in the center.
