Why I'm keeping my G11's after all (+gallery link)

I have been toying with the idead of replacing one or both of my G11's. One of the control dials has stopped working and both have a bit of dust behind the front lens element, repairable. But for the life of me I just can't rationalize replacing them at this time - they still perform very well.

Perhaps the bug will strike again but for now I am still very satisfied with everything about my G-series user experience. I use CHDK and there's just about nothing I can't do with that thing now!

Now that I'm back on the upgrade sidelines I do get a tickle from reading the beginners posts so desperate to find the best camera, Ha! it's not the camera. Pending any basic functional shortcomings or the desire for special features, the best camera is the camera you have spent the most time shooting with. Practice with your camera like a musician practices with their instrument, if you practice more than just on performance day and are able to ask yourself, "what can I do different next time?" when reviewing your shots, your results will be visably improved very quickly.
A link to a gallery from my well used G11.

Thank you.
