24 and 28mm legacy lenses on m4/3

I recently purchased a Minolta MD 50mm 1.7 for use on my E-PL2 and am very pleased with the results and am considering additional legacy glass purchases. It has been a while since I had to manual focus but it is coming back. I read in another thread today that wide angle legacy glass may not work out so well on m4/3 bodies. I realize the crop factor means a 24 or 28mm legacy lens will result in an image that effectively a standard focal length image rather than true wide angle image, but is there a more fundamental problem with using 24mm or 28mm legacy lenses on m4/3 bodies? Please save me some money if using such lenses is going to result in too much distortion or a loss of sharpness.
