New Zealand Kea

Kea is a native parrot of New Zealand, live in remote high country. Going from a South Island town - Wanaka, we drove for 20 km on sealed road, then 35 km of unsealed road, crossed 8 fords, then walked for about 2 hours, finally I had the fortune of seeing them.

They are not shy and would come very close to visitors, presumably wanting some food.

Standing still they are not particularly pretty.
