sony a77 should I or shouldn't I?

I agree. After all the talk about poor high iso performance I was quite pleasently surprised at how good my A65 is above iso 3200. Here are 3 test shots at iso 3200, 6400 and 12800. I had to downsize a little because, to my surprise, DPR won't allow photos any bigger than 20 megapixels.




12800 is a bit mushy but perfectly useable. After all the teeth gnashing about bad high iso I expected a noisy smeared mess. What a pleasant surprise even though I have never use higher than iso 3200 in the past and wasn't concerned about it..
