Pentax ko-1 - great idea

It really seems, that the lenses of the new pentax system protrude into the empty mirror box.

This is a great idea that makes it possible to design new small lenses and use all old K-mount lenses without loss of functionality.

Now imagine Nikon and Canon follow up this idea:with the successors of their D301 or EOS 600:

  • small, well designed cameras (with the size between GH2 and NEX, but rather pronounced 'mirror boxes' that take part of the lens.

  • mirrorless cameras with F and EOS mount - you can use all F mount, EOS lenses without loss of functionality

  • get a new series of smaller lenses (UWA to small tele) perhaps with added electric contacts for extra functions

  • have the chance of choosing rangefinder style or hump models

Imagination boggles.

And THIS might well be the end of MFT - so perhaps the em5 is the final MFT camera. - Peter.
