New 450D owner here

Hi guys. Been reading this forum for a couple weeks now and decided it was time to register so I could join in the discussions.

I just bought a used 450D with the two kit lenses, 18-55, and 55-250, with a set of filters and checked with eosinfo program the shutter has been actuated just over 6000 times, so if the expected life of one of these shutters is 100,000, then my new baby should have a long life in front of her. I got the package for $400 even, to me that was a great price with the two lenses and the fact that it's been babied and not used much

Just now, about ten minutes ago, i ordered the ef 50mm 1.8 nifty fifty as it's called, for $108 and free shipping from the US on Ebay. Then I ordered the unpowered macro extension tube set for 7 dollars.

I should have it all covered for a while with these three lenses. I was torn between this

Am I right in thinking that this is a perfect way to go? The 450D was a big step to some of the modern features, live view and all, and yet they are a couple years old, so you can get the used bodies on Ebay for basically $300-350 I can save up and get another body to use as a second to keep my 55-250 lens on and as a backup. Since this body is well liked, I should be able to keep myself in these for years and years and the price will continue to go down on Ebay for just the bodies only. It seems too good to be true, but I can be assured of having a DSLR for years in the future just by picking up and extra body every 2 to 3 years, and they'll be cheaper and cheaper as I go.

I was struggling between this unit and a New Sony bridge HX100V, cause you can buy them new from Sony store on Ebay for $429. But when i went to youtube to look at sample pictures, I couldn't believe the difference in IQ. I first looked at the Sony pics, and was thinking, wow, these pics are nice, framed good, vivid colors, what could be better than these? Then, I searched for 450D sample photos, and I was stunned at the difference, even is shots that weren't framed good, or were not a interesting subjects, the difference in the IQ was shocking, so pro looking. That made me realize the used 450D package was the way to go. Anyone else see such a huge difference in DSLR IQ compared to the bridge cameras? Whe you look at the bridge photos, they can make you think you are seing the best images, then after you look at DSLR pics, man, what a difference. here are the two lonks I looked at, look at the Sony pics first, then loot at the 450D pics. This is what made my decisions for me.

Now the 450D

Is it just me wanting to justify my purchase, or is the 450D really so much better. if it is better, can you tell me why?

I see good colors in the Sony, the shots are framed well, so what is the difference I am seeing?

Thanks much forreading my first ramblings. I'm a newbie and will be posting some of my attempts with the 450D. Here are four of my first pics with the two kit lenses. can't wait for my Nifty Fifty to arrive.
