A BIG orb

cool stuff..Looks like you have found the right tool for your use ..and you use it with that which can't be trained ..a good eye ..er orb ??

Actually ...per the kick back ...don't think danglin hundreds of feet over cliffs on poles and colored fabric would be a comfortable place for most secularists to ..er hang out ..just sayin..LOL

Loved your shots ..keep posting ..and as for the nit pickin natters ..oh well they shall ever be here .. just another life form on the orb .. as enduriing and unchanging as the pounding surf..
all the best

and keep on posting

Wow! Take that Ex-Spurts who proclaim the x10 a "door stop" or just a high priced "paper weight"! For a camera described as only capable of ruining important photographs it did pretty darn well in your hands! You did very well! Thanks for sharing!
Not "a camera described as only capable of ruining important photographs", but
"about the only camera capable of ruining important (or any other) photographs."

As for the OP's shots they are really great, no question.

Excellent pictures which not many of us will see for real.
Care to briefly explain how you fly your hang glider while using the camera?

When all else fails - read the instructions.

Beautiful shots LWW, I thought you must have been powered. Definitely a nice way to go when the wind doesn't comply.

I fly Stanwell in my Malibu. ;)
Never been over that way to fly, after 200 klm of ridge to myself I might find it a bit difficult look out for others. Its not so much about the wind not complying, Its the flexibilty to fly along the beach at 20', go inland, go out to sea(a bit) and really nail the best vantage point for pics.

Cheers
Lynn
Hi Lynn,

If I had the money I would love to check out the new nano trike from Airborne. Small enough to carry in your car, with the relaxed seated position. :)

If you want to get an idea of what it is like to fly Stanwell, you could check out some of my videos on youtube. :)

You don't get it as usual.
He can do it with X10.
Why X100?
Because you think he should do?
Such ignorance!!!

It's a pleasure to look at such captures.
It shows what the X10 capable of.
No one in this forum says that the orb issue shouldn't be fixed.
But, some people mean that you shouldn't use X10 before orb issue is fixed.
Or you should return it.
How you could take such great images and post it here?

Oh? And WHO has said that?

This defensiveness is just nonsense. Some of us are wrestling with this camera almost every day and actively dealing with its issues, which - apart from the orbs - include spotty RAW support, metering that tends to over-expose, oversaturated reds, and - yes - orbs.
How you could take such great images and post it here?
No problem with that. And they are nice images.

But taking photos in conditions where orbs don't occur anyway proves nothing about the limitations of this camera in this area one way or another. And it's rather silly to bring them into this thread, as - I note again - was done by those who want to play them down rather than those who insist they be fixed soon. Let's see what happens when Lynn is lining up a beautiful shot flying towards a setting sun over the ocean. That's precisely the kind of situation where there's no take two.

These pictures also don't show you how the camera shoots nudes. And you wouldn't suddenly introduce nudes into the thread.

I know what I'm talking about (first digital camera bought in 1998).
After 6 weeks of use I know the limitations of X10.
And I have to say it is an excellent camera.
Orb issue must be fixed, as much as possible!
But, I do not accept that some people force me what I should think or do.
Go your own way!!!

Nobody is forcing you to do anything.

But we are hoping to ENCOURAGE Fuji to do something.

Producing this sh*t artifact is no way to treat consumers.

Gary, Please!!!
Over saturated reds are an issue with every camera!!!
Show me examples, which cameras don't...
I own Canon, Nikon, Sony, Panasonic cameras...
I've used X10 for 5 weeks and I enjoy it every day knowing it's limits.
Great DR, great color, natural contrast without HR image look.
Let some people enjoy taking pictures!!!
I'm still waiting a firmware fix.

WHO is forcing you to get a camera? Why are you not calling the police?

The police allowed me to use X10!
They said "You can use X10 without orb-fix on your responsibility".
Am I allowed?
I'm over 18.

Sure, I'm waiting for a firmware fix too.
Why I should not enjoy the camera before the fix?
Because the LORDS don't want to?

And away they go!!

Forget rattymouse and Billx08!
They do not contribute here anything positive.
Only blah blah blah...

I have to see any compact camera to deliver like X10.
I've never denied the orb issue.
But, they hijack any thread!!!

That's a good point. And even true. But the Fuji is VERY good at greens but one of the worst at reds. And I use Canon, Sony and Panasonic too. (Although not Nikon)

I use it too. And bump up against some of those limits often. Particularly as a RAW shooter
Great DR, great color, natural contrast without HR image look.
Dynamic range includes highlights as well as shadows. I think we know by now that this camera does NOT excel at highlights.
I'm still waiting a firmware fix.
Me too. That's my hope.

... and ask people to knock it off.

Your photos and your post were good. Until you started to get a bit silly.

You're shooting in conditions where orbs are not an issue so you get no orbs.

Wow. Surprise, surprise.
