Ufraw has rather few features compared to other raw developers, and, last time I used it, the noise reduction wasn't satisfactory.
So I bought Bibble (light), and now I am using Raw-Therapee.

The later is imho better than Bibble, except for Bibble's great B/W plugin, and as free as UfRaw. Both use dcraw/libraw, as afaik all open source software which can work with raw files do, so demosaicing performance is the same.

So, for everyone on linux not satisfied with ufraw before buying Aftershot, try Rawtherapee first. But if you try the Aftershot demo, also play a little with it's Andrea plugin.
