Best non Dslr for low light (so many new 4/3's etc these days)?

I have a Pentax K-7 which I love.
I also have a compact, which is fine (Samsung something).

I have two young kids and would like a smaller than Dslr camera that I could keep in a drawer at home and pull out quickly for snaps. So something good for low light/fast lens is obvious. It doen'st have to be fit in jeans pocket size.

Budget I'm not sure of but it wouldnt stretch to the Fujifilm X100 anyway.

So what cameras would be best, would you recommend.

I know the Canon S90, Panasonic LX5 etc are all good but with all the new cameras nowadays (Nikon V1, Pentax Q, Sony NEX's etc) it's hard to keep up with everything.

So any recommendations would be much appreciated.

Pa. - my Photo blog, couldn't be easier to remember!
