The easy choice for me...

would be the NEX 5n and 18-55mm and a couple of spare batteries. It's a small and light set-up, the batteries and charger are small and light. The LCD brightness can be boosted in bright light (very usable), it has panorama sweep which would be very useful on such a trip. Battery life is good, it can shoot well in low light, even with this lens (which is a very good lens by the way, with stabilisation). The IQ is excellent, it has very good dynamic range (again, very useful on this sort of trip). It's the perfect solution for a small high IQ camera with one lens IMHO and you're not giving up anything to pretty much anything else comparable.....just sayin'
