Egypt: Cairo, Aswan, Alex, Luxor

Just got back from 2 weeks in Egypt. Saw everything. My first SLR (NEX-5N) and most pictures taken with a Nikon 28/2.8 Ais (prob fave lens now). Others taken with 18-55 Sony kit. Picking up a Minolta MD Rokkor-X 24/2.8 to see if I prefer that for street stuff.

First SLR, first real trip for me to take such photos. Shot 500 shots before the trip to get a feel for the gear and diff lighting situations. Shooting street stuff at night and with an MF lens is definitely a challenge ...but totally understand how to shoot with histogram and LOVE it. That was a revelation!

Now, I don't even possess a FRACTION of the talent I see here and was embarrassed to post, but you all post such inspiring work that I hope to be a student for a long time. Maybe one day I will graduate from being a snapshooter...

And if you prefer I embed these as most posters do, let me do and I will try. Still haven't used that function, so this was easiest:
