J1 video on the move

I realise now that I know squat in 2012 video, and am drilling down on standards, i versus p, editing software, etc, and will get there.

Anyway with something as small and nimble as J1, I assume I am not alone in assuming I can safely shoot fun clips while walking, moving around friends, etc.

I tried that during a couple of days ago in the 1080 60i setting, imported in iMovie, and found unbareable artifacts whenever I was moving around. Some of the stuff looks like anti-shake trying to correct, some look like what I found out is called "comb" artefacts typical of interlaced video.

Before I experiment myself between 1080i and 720p options, anti-shake on and off, import process into iMovie or whatever else, etc, etc, what is the consensus of best process? (I am on Mac)

We are NOT talking about stable monopod or tripod based filming. This is about fun spontaneous clips...

Thanks beforehand.
