Good spot

Below you´ll find a screen capture from the G1x manual. Doesn´t that mean G1x has exposure compensation, and that it even can be locked?

Good spot, this does in fact work. If you turn the mode dial to the movie position and press the * button to lock the exposure, then you can spin the rear dial to apply exposure compensation before you start movie recording.

Note that this only works if you switch the camera to movie mode, though, and not in stills shooting modes (P, Av, Tv, M). So it somewhat negates the whole point of having a direct record button to access movies recording in any mode. Or, indeed, a dedicated exposure compensation dial, come to think of it. It's the sort of obtuse control logic you can only ever find out from the manual; it probably made perfect sense on older models like the G9, but never got changed as the camera design progressed.

Anyway, I've amended the preview to include this information - thanks for pointing it out.
