I'd say it is indicative of a scene that required a little negative exp. compensation but didn't get it.

That you can't leave the exp. comp set at +-0 & snap away carelessly regardless of the lighting & subject matter of a particular scene isn't a sign of poor DR on the G1X.

Just fyi Brian: If you shoot carelessly & don't pay attention to things like metering & exp comp, you can blow the highlights with any camera....again, apologies if you already knew this.

Your right, an easy thing to control for sure, but I thought dpr would try a little harder when producing a set of example images.

I had just been pondering over this image when I saw your point about having decent DR which I agree with by the way, so I couldn't resist showing it
