Simply put, P, if you buy now you'll kick yourself if the new 1.8G comes out and blows away the 1.8D, which it certainly should. (It would be a disaster for Nikon to release a lens which is not as good as the 1.8D, so it's unlikely this is going to happen).

What's a couple of months for what should be a better lens?

On the other hand, if you absolutely need the lens now, then the answer is clear.

Hi,

I have a D90 and would like to buy a portrait lens.
Would you think it´s better to wait till march for the new AF-S 85 mm 1:1.8G

or do you think the old AF 85mm 1.8D does quite the the job?
The prize is about the same.

Thanks!
