G1 X, or T2i/18-135mm lens. Which one is better?

If your purchasing priority is strictly photography (since, after all, you're purchasing a camera), which is a better buy?

G1 X has an almost-aps-c-sized sensor. T2i has the real deal.

G1 X will not have fast AF as it's bigger DSLR siblings. T2i is one of those siblings.
G1 X will have DIGIC 5 though. T2i will live & die in DIGIC 4.

G1 X lens 'quality' is still up for 'real users' review. Many users criticize the 18-135mm lens to be... outdated?

G1 X will release for a dollar under $800. T2i w/ 18-135mm lens is currently available for $779 (as of today at amazon).
G1 X is stuck at 4x zoom. T2i has detachable lens.

This is not considering the video options on both cameras (since the G1 X will easily win the count). But many still want to purchase a camera, for it's photography muscle.

What would you choose?

If neither one, what's a better camera (photography-wise) than these two for under $800 (considering similar lens accessory within the given price)?

BTW, if one of the answers is a nex-5n, it may be $100 cheaper (as manufacturer suggested price, except now it's overblown due to shortages) but the kit lens only extend to 55mm.

Canon EOS 550D (EOS Rebel T2i / EOS Kiss X4) Canon PowerShot G1 X Sony Alpha NEX-5N
