Help with D3s and D700 AF
Lately it seems that more of my images are OOF, I do shoot between F/2.8 -F/4 and I understand that this can be part of the problem.
Shooting at F/2.8 to F/4 will cause shallower depth of field and your pictures should still be in sharp focus.
95% of my shooting also comes with the camera set to single servo and single point selection. I do use my outer points quite a bit, it is very rare that I use the center point. I do understand the the outer points are no cross type and was wondering it this is part of my issue as well.
No, this is not part of the issue. The sensors not being cross type will impact the focus acquisition speed but you should still get tack sharp images.
Post some unedited samples that has all the EXIF information intact.
