D4 outdoes 1Dx in video

Companies that "respect some tradition" more then their customer base generally go out of business quite fast. You could say the same thing about pretty much any company out there, auto makers for instance. Companies and products evolve, when the first AF cameras were released some people were against that, I bet a bunch of them said "respect some tradition already" but you know what, they were wrong.

That is a great one BlueBomber ;-) OK, seriously, it would be very revealing to correlate non-smart-phone owners with people who do not like DSLR video. You are probably on to something deeper there!

Anyhow all this video bashing has got to die down eventually (I can hope can't I?). We don't hear tons of anti-digital or anti-autofocus chatter these days and since every camera on the market now offers video this topic currently clogging up the air waves should eventually be relegated to discussions of older used cameras.

Anyhow I don't see any DSLR or ILC manufacturer who currently offers a manual focus only camera so I don't expect a stills-only camera either.

And I don't use the in-camera editing features myself but I don't recall complaining about that, it's just a feature I don't use.
Count me as one who most certainly doesn't care about any SLR's video capabilities...

Maybe Nikon should split their SLR products into 2 lines:
...
Everyone wins. Is this too radical a thought for Nikon?
Apparently a stills-only camera is too radical a thought for Canon, Sony, Pentax, Olympus, Panasonic, Samsung, and you-name-it.

(plus you left off the manufacturer who then has additional costs and therefore is not in the win column). Come on guys, there is a pattern here that is as plain as day, get over it.

Unless of course all these stills-only folks are willing to pay MORE for their camera - is that what you are advocating, you are willing to pay more for the stills-only camera? (cause I sure as heck don't care to subsidize you ;-) ).
