Predicament Concerning Camera Exchange

Hello everyone,

I haven't posted in a while due to work conflicts, but now I am in need of some advice.

First, a history:

I owned a T1i that I bought from Best Buy in May of 2009. Thankfully, I purchased the Black Tie protection plan that covers me for 4 years.

A couple weeks ago, the camera started to act up and not function as well as it used to, so I decided to take advantage of my warranty, and have them take a look at it.

They deemed the damage to be irreparable, and they exchanged the camera. Lucky for me, because the T1i is not in production anymore, they replaced it with a T3i...awesome.

Here's my predicament...even though I don't have a problem with my lenses not working...my battery grip has become an issue.

I purchased the Canon battery grip from B&H and and extra battery at the same time.

Do you think that if I contacted Canon directly and pleaded my case, they would replace my battery grip/battery with the updated version for the T3i?

Please let me know what you think I should do otherwise.

Thank you!

Wade
