So the announcement of the G1X has put me in a bind. Hear me out...
I currently have a Canon 7D as my "special event" shooter. I also, until recently, used an Olympus XZ1 as my secondary "portability" shooter. I was happy with the Olympus, especially the lens, but its high ISO performance (especially in low light) left me wanting.
On December 27th Amazon had a lightning deal on the Panasonic GF3 with the f/2.5, 14mm lens kit for $375 so I picked it up and sold my Olympus to a friend for $300.
The Panasonic is a great camera, but the 7D has much better image quality above ISO 1600. So the question is, do I return the GF3 and put all my money towards a G1X (since I'm expecting its high ISO shooting to rival my 7D) or keep the GF3 since it's smaller than the G1X and I got it for a steal? I'm not sure there's a right or wrong answer for this, I'm just looking to get some opinions - Thanks!
P.S. - The ability to change lenses is minimal and I would be more than satisfied with the G1X's zoom range.
