I have 2 250d lenses and they are great. The less dof with the larger sensor is a big drawback for me.

The G1x can be stopped down to f/16, and at f/16 it has app. the same DoF (and diffraction) as the G12 at f/6.4, so not really a drawback, you just have to use another f-stop (and maybe a higher ISO).
