Aren't the jpegs good enough to shoot candids, do you need the increased image information a raw allows?

I basically only shoot raw when I anticipate a large print, otherwise jpeg usually suffices.

What do you guys think?

Personally, candids are a situation where I'd find RAW most useful, because you have less control of the light, which makes the ability to tweak it in post all the more important. RAW also gives you the option of getting cleaner high-ISO files with noise reduction software in post.

I only shoot JPEG when I'm doing sports work and speed/buffer are absolutely critical. I shoot auto racing, which means I can pick angles with the best light throughout the day and not have to tweak the files much.
